Four days of incessant drizzle with a persistent grey duvet sky above led to a sense of acute despair.
The fifth day produced a freak five-second gap above allowing a splash of diffused light to transform the green triangle to a vivid beacon amidst the surrounding rusty browns.
The warmth was sweetly linked by the terracotta tiled roof of the barn and I could have hugged the owner for having painted it white.
